The price: are we ready to pay?

I was forwarded a link to a post on a gossip website about Eduardo Verastegui allegedly “begging” for acting roles in Mexico since no one will give him a part in the US because of his involvement in the Culture of Life. I actually laughed at the post, but sure enough as I did some [...]

Christmas ‘08: I sprained both of my arms.

Merry Christmas!!
I hope you had a good few days off with your family and friends. My Christmas celebration was spread over three days, the first being at home in San Diego with my mom, aunt, and her goddaughter.
I usually do the Christmas decorating, but since I didn’t come home until last Monday my mother decorated [...]

Merry Christmas!!!!

For unto us a child has been born.
The LORD spoke to Ahaz, saying:
Ask for a sign from the LORD, your God;
let it be deep as the netherworld, or high as the sky!
But Ahaz answered,
“I will not ask! I will not tempt the LORD!”
Then Isaiah said:
Listen, O house of David!
Is it not enough for you to [...]

Blogging break: I’m sick.

I’m officially back home in San Diego, but have caught an unfortunate Grinch of a cold. I will probably end up making some posts tomorrow, but consider this a blogging break until the 26th.
Have a blessed Christmas,
Rebecca.
PS: I just learned that I will also be interning at Family Theater Productions next spring to [...]

Review: 2 hours of Keanu Reeves’ bedroom eyes.

…or lack thereof.
I want to say first and foremost that I was really looking forward to seeing “The Day the Earth Stood Still,” as the original film is a great classic. My verdict? Save your money, friends.
Just like “The Happening,” the story was a great idea, but with poor performances the film became slightly ridiculous [...]

Dude.

Please, oh please, oh please, let it be good.

EWTN’s Christmas line-up.

The second video from the Mona Lisa Project has been released.

Join Us: The Genesis Initiative

If you got friend-requested or recruited to “The Genesis Initiative” cause on Faebook yesterday, it was really me while at my internship….teehehe.
The Genesis Initiative is:
A non-profit corporation whose mission is to enhance understanding about the positive impact of Catholic values, teachings, and historical figures on the broader culture by supporting the development and production of [...]

Our Lady of Guadalupe, pray for us.

This week of December is always a good week for Catholics dedicated to the Blessed Mother. Monday was the feast of the Immaculate Conception and today is the feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe.

Pax Christi, Rebecca.

Rumor Has It…vol. 9

Celebrities
CNN news anchor Soledad O Brien was honored at the 11th annual bishops’ dinner for Catholic Education…she spoke about growing up Catholic in the Catholic school system. I thought this was pretty cool, though Soledad is still on my naughty list for that ridiculous “Black in America” series she hosted a few months ago…
…If you’ve [...]

A Note from Live Action Films

I’m on my way to go pick up my car and then head for an internship interview. I was planning on posting the next Rumor Has It volume but I don’t have enough time to format it.
But apparently, Lila Rose, the UCLA chica that singlehandedly delivered heaven in a hand basket to Planned Parenthood last [...]

Knock it off trads.

I have been supremely annoyed by some of the responses within the Catholic world to Cardinal Francis Arinze’s resignation from the Congregation for Divine Worship and the Discipline of the Sacraments, citing that he was a “roadblock” to a reviving of the traditional latin liturgy.
That accusation implies that Cardinal Arinze is not orthodox, when in [...]

Blogging Break: Will be back 12/10

I’ve got final exams today and tomorrow, so I’ll be away from the blogosphere until Wednesday.

Super-intern.

Seriously? Seriously.
I had the weirdest day yesterday.
Frankie (my car) is currently at an autobody shop getting some plastic surgery done, and I have been relying on my friends to cart me around town.
I started my internship at Origin yesterday, at which I was supposed to arrive at 10 a.m. As I was walking out [...]

20: Yo soy…la Birthday Girl.

Though I still feel like 20 is a lame age, I had a very fun birthday and I want to say thank you to everyone who sent me FB messages, wrote on my FB wall, and/or sent me an email.

Yummy Key Lime Birthday Pie….home made by one of my roommates.

20: Feast your eyes!

So the birthday thread is spilling over into today, but whatever. Below is a synopsis of the Left to Tell book. This isn’t my adaptation, but rather a three act breakdown of the book that I had to do in order to arrive at my adaptation. I’ve already written about 20 pages of the [...]

20: Birthday Mini-Reviews.

Praise the Lord, I made it to my 20th year.
I hope you had a great Thanksgiving holiday. I spent mine stuffing my face, shopping without trampling people to death, and watching movies with my family.
To start off the “20″ Birthday thread, how about some mini reviews?
Bolt
Eh, it was okay. There was some Lassie-esque “awww” moments, [...]
