The Real World: Catholic style.
Allow me to direct your attention to two reality webisode series starring you guessed it…Catholics!
First up is Priest Academy, a French show starring two Catholic priests and one seminarian.
Can any of my French or otherwise super-smart multi-lingual readers translate what’s going on in this clip? It’s the teaser for the show, but I only took Spanish in high school.
Also, check out Joey Fiero: My Life as a Struggling Actor, a Youtube series about Joey Fiero, his wife and aspiring screenwriter Jacquie, and their two kids as they try to “make it” in Hollywood. I just noticed that Joey had subscribed to my videos on Youtube and when I clicked on his photo I discovered his really awesome and family-friendly series.
Random thought: What do you think about me doing a CFS award show? That could be fun.

I took French, but I only remember “I’m hungry”, “I’m thirsty”, “What time is it?”, and “My name is…” I helped film and edit my sister French Video Project and it was awesome! I should post the good parts to YouTube. We did a Cops spoof (which turned out so good). And we did a Soap Opera Spoof (which reminded me of what you see on the Spanish channels — Only in French) There wasn’t a lot of words in that scene. Just my sister slapping Brad in the face and throwing water on him : )
July 3rd, 2008 at 10:06 amA veeerry rough/literal translation for you (I missed out some of the blurb introducing Michel and Christophe because I couldn’t quite get a handle on it - sorry!):
Priest Academy
Welcome to ‘Priest Academy’. We have chosen three priests for you who will deliver their witness as to what it’s like to be a priest in 2008.
Franck - 30 years old, soon to be a priest in a couple of days
Michel Jean-Pierre - 42 years old
And finally Christophe - 36 years old
These are not stars, these are priests.
Find Michel, Franck et Christophe in their daily life from the 20th of June on pretres-academy.com
I hope that’s OK!
