Angela wrote a nice post entitled, “Supermodel Your Hero? Hold that thought.” about Adriana Lima’s latest GQ cover:
Remember the secular world’s shock and the Catholic world’s awe when supermodel Adriana Lima told a GQ interviewer that she was a strong Catholic and would remain a virgin until after marriage?
But wait…
What’s this?
In a more recent edition [...]

Pewsitter published the following article written by a former fallen-away Catholic, Mary Rose Maguire, about the joy of re-discovering the beauty of Catholic women. When I read it, the message just rang so true in my heart I had to share some of it with you:
Catholic women are real. They’re full of grit and full [...]

It’s for real this time…like for really real.
My second blog Modestia, a blog about modest fashion is officially up and running again. I had to put it on hiatus a few months ago because I couldn’t maintain it and this blog at the same time—I don’t know why I thought it would be a [...]

….from the CNMC!
It was AMAZING! It was so nice to finally meet the people I’ve been talking to online for forever and a day. I didn’t get to meet everyone who was there (sorry if I missed you) but it sounds like there will be another event next year.
I have plenty of stories to share [...]

Celebrity News
Actor Jon Voight (who played John Paul II in an adaption of his life) was recently interviewed about his Catholic faith…
…I reported months ago that French actress Bridget Bardot was on trial for her “racist” comments against Islam…she was convicted and fined for “inciting discrimination” by saying that Muslims are destroying France…fair enough I [...]

Sigh.
Despite the fact that the entire theatre was shrieking from laughter, The Happening is a sci-fi-ish thriller where one day people just start flipping out and killing themselves. One chick uses her hair chopsticks to stab herself in the neck, another guy drives into a tree, another one shoots himself…you get the picture. At [...]

Well, even if the movie is as bad as some are saying, this trailer isn’t deffering my excitement. Since the movie is set in Italy, it will be interesting to see how Catholicism is portrayed in the film.

I didn’t have a chance to go see it the day it came out, but I saw Kung Fu Panda last night and I loved it!
When the film begins, all is well in the Valley of Peace, located somewhere in China. The Valley of Peace is famed for its Kung Fu masters, and it is [...]

I received an email from The Doorpost Film Project this morning stating that Ted Chung’s film “A Thousand Words” is no longer a finalist because it had already screened at Pangea Day.
In other words, Ted Chung broke the festival rules because submissions were not to have been previously screened at any official event. Such a [...]

Paulist Productions’ latest webisode series “Tyler’s Ride” makes use of the classic story line where the snobby rich kid gets kicked out of the house, the snobby rich kid faces real life obstacles, and then the snobby rich kid learns his lesson. “The Lesson” in this case is learned after Tyler (Grant Alan) loses a [...]

…and YouTube saw they were funny….
You know it’s a slow blogging day when I start posting random videos. The good news is that I’ve received two more offers to do more work concerning certain Catholic film endeavors, the bad news is that it’s been kinda crazy. Plus, my publisher asked me to be the official [...]

The comment fest on the post “This is the franchise that doesn’t end…” has prompted me to write another post on some of the questions I received.
My main point about the new “Bella” book and the “Bella” movie phenomenon in general is that while I was and still am happy about the film’s success, I [...]

Well, it’s officially official—I’m going to the CNMC in June. I was going before, but I just dropped a load of cash on the plane ticket and hotel last night, so now I’m really going.
Two things:
1) It goes without being said that I’m taking my entire mini-studio with me to the CNMC. Do [...]

I often wonder what it was like for the apostles and disciples to just walk into villages and spread the Gospel. The Acts of the Apostles tells us a lot about early Christianity, but I can’t help but still wonder what their clothes looked like or what people’s faces looked like the first time they [...]

I finally made my first post on Catholic Tech Tips for Teens. I won’t post it here because I want you to go visit the site, but it’s a how-to sort of a post of ten tips I use to help myself while I’m writing a screenplay, which is pretty much always. Check it out.

The DoorPost Film Project has finally announced its 15 finalists. (The winners were supposed to be announced on June 2nd….I’m just sayin…)
“This Christ” by Chris Strackbein didn’t make it in, but I’m very impressed with some of the films that did. Linked are my favorites of the 15 finalists:
1. “3187345″ by Mishka Kornai
2. “A [...]

…yes it goes on and on my friend…
Let me preface this post by saying that I really did like “Bella.” In fact, I still like “Bella.” Since I purchased the DVD while I was waiting to see Prince Caspian a few weeks ago, I have watched the film a few times and thoroughly enjoyed it [...]
