Vote for Chris’ latest project.

UPDATE #3: The site is back up. Vote for Chris!
Update #2: The website is down to fix the problem. I’ll let you know when it’s up again.
UPDATE: Apparently there’s a kink in the website’s system. Chris told me that there are a number of people who think they voted but whose votes weren’t [...]

If you can’t tell ‘em, show ‘em.

Believe it or not, I used to be pro-choice.
It wasn’t because I thought abortion was okay, I just thought that since I get to choose my own morality, every other woman should have the option to (or in other words the moral relativism of our day had corrupted my mind.) After I [...]

Monday Awesome: Catholic Film Wins Big

Big thanks to Christopher Gaul of the Catholic Review Online for notifying me of this delightful little piece of news that has consequently cured my case of the ‘Mondays’.
It’s been quite a ride, possibly a supernatural one, for Christopher Strackbein, the former youth and young adult minister at St. Mary, Annapolis, who never dreamed he’d [...]

The Revolution continues…

Spero News did a nice interview with Seth Kleg, a Christian filmmaker out of Las Vegas whose newest endeavor is his company The Christian Studio.
I’ve never heard of him before, but the man speaks truth:
MW: Do mainstream studio decision makers really care about the values and morals of America? Are there other Hollywood voices [...]

Happy Easter! (to the Orthodox.)

Many Roman Catholics don’t pay too much attention to our Eastern brothers and sisters, especially since their liturgical calendar is so different from ours, so I want to make sure I wish them a happy Easter on the day they actually celebrate it.
Last fall, our theology department hosted a conference on unity between Roman & [...]

Update on the epic drama that is WYD ‘08.

The Vietnam portion of the trip has been cancelled for the most ridiculous reasons I’ve ever heard in my life…..and I’m pissed.
From the beginning there’s been a lack in leadership (with the exception of the student organizers who have worked very hard), but I never thought it would affect our itinerary since our tickets had [...]

J/k…I’m on the Catholic Moments Podcast Ep#46!

It was only an hour or so ago that I wrote the CM episode with my interview hadn’t been published yet…and then I checked my email and Lisa had sent me a message saying it had.
You can check it out on iTunes or at one of the following links:
SQPN’s Website

Rumor has it…vol. 3.

*Note to the newer readers:
The “Rumor Has it…” thread is a newer portion of the blog I publish every month or so about rumors and news in the Catholic entertainment world. There aren’t too many rumors this time around, but ooooh there’s plenty of news…
Celebrities
…Singer/Actress Jennifer Lopez and her husband singer Marc Antony baptized their [...]

Let’s play the “claim your dot” game.

As a part of the new facelift I added SiteMeter to the blog. Now I can view all of my hits on what pages and hopefully improve the site in the future. Sitemeter has this really cool feature where I can view my hits by location. Here’s what today’s hits looked like [...]

Unbelievable.

Completey, utterly, and undeniably unbelievable.
YouTube and that unfunny has-been with a fleeting career Damon Wayans proudly present….Abortion Man!
With that title alone…I just…I have no words. Go to YouTube and flag it please.

PS: I hate naming screenplays.

It’s like naming a baby.
I’m trying to come up with names for both my teen comedy and my action screenplay….and boy is it difficult.
I don’t have any options for the comedy just yet, but currently in the running for the action script are “Because We Saw” and “Because We Were”. The only [...]

So long/farewell/auf wiedersehen/goodbye Papa.

It was fun while it lasted. I’ll see you in Sydney.
“The time has come for me to bid farewell to your country,” the Pope said.
“These days that I have spent in the United States have been blessed with many memorable experiences of American hospitality, and I wish to express my deep appreciation to all of [...]

I wish I was in NY.

I think these past couple of days have been the only time I’ve ever regretted choosing to go to school in LA rather than in NY or somewhere on the East Coast (and I did get accepted to a few places over there.)
Here’s some video of Kelly Clarkson singing “Ave Maria” to B16 at the [...]

“Thank you your holiness, awesome speech.”

Lol.
Even if you don’t like President Bush, you have to admit that when you take away the script the guy is just a regular southerner and sometimes he can actually be quite endearing.

I don’t wanna see your man junk.

I now pause my regularly scheduled Pope Benedict coverage to talk about man junk.
If you don’t know what “man junk” is, you’re either not a man, an unmarried and/or virginal woman, or you’re too young to be reading my blog that is currently rated PG-19. If this is the case, please grab a parent or [...]

I’m naming my first born child Joseph Benedict.

Seriously.
I don’t care what the sex of my first born child is, “Joseph Benedict” is going to be his/her name. If it’s a girl I suppose I could name her “Maria Joseph Benedict” and just call her “Jo,” but even she’s going to get named after B16. But I digress.
Today Pope Benedict graduated from [...]

Behold the beginning of an empire.

Well, I don’t know if I’m cut out to have an empire, but I’m starting something or other and it needs a title. LOL.
I just found out that my favorite teacher of all time from high school passed away a few days ago. He was awesome, one of those rare teachers that [...]

I was famous today.

And it was awesome.
This afternoon I did my interview with Lisa from the Catholic Moments Podcast. It went really well and I had a lot of fun, though I was extremely nervous!
Right before that interview, I went to daily mass like I usually do, and much to everyone’s surprise their was a camera [...]

Happy Birthday Papa!

As you probably know, the pope celebrated his 81st birthday today in D.C. at the White House with President Bush and his family.
Pope Benedict received a pledge of 1.7 million hours of service from Catholic school students as his birthday gift. Pretty cool gift if I do say so myself.
Pax Christi, Rebecca.

He’s here! He’s here!

And he’s safe. Praise the Lord!
I watched Pope Benedict XVI’s arrival in D.C. live on the Washington Post’s website and took some screen capture shots. If you missed it, here ya go:

Waiting…waiting…

Some random people getting off the plane…

Still waiting…it was funny because the cameraman was like “When’s he coming down?” and some other guy [...]
